Our Team

We strive to provide an effective, comprehensive spinal neurosurgery service to the surrounding communities. The nature of neurosurgical practice encompasses scheduled, urgent and emergency management of neurological system. Surgical pathology includes degenerative, trauma, tumour and infective diseases of the spine and spinal nerves. This heterogeneity of diseases and injuries requires a dynamic approach to problem solving and draws strength from a multi-disciplinary team of support services.

About Dr Thompson

Dr Crispin Thompson is a specialist spinal neurosurgeon. He studied in Durban, Cape Town and the United Kingdom and has accumulated experience in the management of complex spine pathology, including degenerative spinal conditions, trauma of the spinal column and spinal cord, infections of the spine and tumours of the spinal column and spinal cord.

His private practice is based at the Milnerton Mediclinic and he provides part-time neurosurgical support at Groote Schuur Hospital.

Dr Ruvé Kock has been working regularly with Dr Crispin Thompson at Milnerton Mediclinic since mid-2015. She has a keen interest in neuro-anaesthesia and is able to provide a comprehensive spectrum of anaesthetic services depending on the individual patient’s needs and requirements.

Nafeesah Salaammadatt has been at the operational helm of the practice since joining the team in April 2018. She added her efficient, friendly approach to patient care that has been a trademark of her many years in the health-care environment. Her quiet determination is what keeps the practice wheels turning and allows patients to experience as few administrative disruptions as possible.
